Some of DeckWatch's chart layers are built from open data whose licences ask that what is made from it be shared on the same terms. These are the files as the app carries them. Not for navigation: use official charts and publications.

Traffic separation schemes
Traffic lanes (drawn in the direction of traffic), separation zones and lines, scheme limits, inshore traffic zones, precautionary areas and areas to be avoided, worldwide.
- OpenStreetMap: © OpenStreetMap contributors. The parts from OpenStreetMap, and this file as a database, are available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0. See openstreetmap.org/copyright.
- US waters: NOAA Office of Coast Survey, shipping lanes (public domain), where OpenStreetMap has none. NOAA gives a lane's direction only in its name ("Inbound", "Barnegat to Ambrose"); where it does, DeckWatch adds a line down the lane's middle in that direction, and says so in its note.
- The Turkish Straits: entered from the Türk Boğazları Deniz Trafik Düzeni Yönetmeliği (2019, as amended 2020), Annex 1.
- Off Ra's al Kuh: entered from IMO document MSC 78/26/Add.2, annex 21.
Each part names its source in the file ("s": osm, noaa, or the text it was entered from). Inland waterway markings are left out.
